Free and Reduced Applications are used to qualify districts for additional funding to support student education and services. Even a small increase in eligible forms collected would result in thousands of more dollars in funding. On the flip side, forms left incomplete potentially leaves thousands of dollars in funding for SRISD students on the table and out of reach.

Thank you, parents, for letting us borrow your amazing Freshmen today! 💚
We had a blast getting to know our newest Wildcats during a fun-filled day that included meeting our admin team, exploring the campus with a scavenger hunt, and connecting with their teachers.

We’re officially counting down the days until the first day of school — and we can’t wait!

Important Announcement: Scurry-Rosser ISD’s meal rates for the 2025–2026 school year have been officially approved. Please note: This year, SRISD will NOT be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This means not all students will automatically receive free meals.

To be eligible for free or reduced-price meals, families must re-submit a Free & Reduced Meals Application for the new school year. Apply early to ensure your student is prepared for the first day of school.

House Bill 1481 requires all Texas public schools to adopt and enforce a written policy prohibiting students from using personal communication devices on school property during the day. Scurry-Rosser ISD will require all students to turn off and store their personal devices in a secure location during the day. Dear parents and families, Your child took the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) earlier this spring, and soon you will receive your child’s results. The state assessment is one of many ways to measure student learning. Teachers will use STAAR results along with other information to support your child’s learning in the new school year. Beginning June 10, 2025 for STAAR end-of-course assessments and June 17, 2024 for STAAR grades 3–8 assessments, you will be able to access your child’s STAAR results by logging into the district parent portal or the Family Portal on the Texas Assessment website. (Click on Texas Assessment). This will take you directly to your child’s STAAR results, which will include detailed information for each test question, identifying your child’s strengths as well as areas where they may need additional support. Families have shared that seeing which questions their child got right and wrong has been the most useful. You will also see easy-to-use resources to help your child focus on the skills they most need help with and can work on at home. 🌟 Grant Spotlight 🌟 We’re excited to highlight how grant funding is making a difference in our classrooms! 🎉 Written by Roxie Goldsmith: Physical sensory items give students a physical outlet to release excess energy. For students with ADHD or similar challenges, engaging with these items can improve focus and concentration by providing an activity that helps them release excess energy. Physical sensory items can support the development of gross motor skills. These items are often used during sensory breaks, which are short periods of time when students step away from their usual tasks to engage in physical or sensory activities. This helps them to reset, release tension, and come back to class feeling more focused and ready to learn. Overall, physical sensory items are essential for creating a learning environment where students can feel calm, engaged, and supported, helping them thrive both academically and emotionally. #SRISDEF #GrantSpotlight #SupportingStudents #FocusedLearning #SensoryTools #StudentSuccess #InclusiveEducation #EngagedLearning #ThrivingClassrooms #EducationMatters #ThankYouTeachers
